Shed Demolition and Removal in Brevard County: Meeting a Real Estate Closing Deadline

Recently, we received a call from a real estate investor who had sold a property. Upon
final inspection, one of the conditions of closing was that a shed on the property needed
to be removed prior to closing. We received the call on Tuesday and were able to
arrange the shed teardown and removal for that Friday so they could close on the
property the following week.

More Than Just Junk Removal

You see, Green Tiger is a partnership between Melbourne Lawn and Landscaping and
Absolute Supply Home Renovations. Our background, knowledge, and resources make
us uniquely qualified to handle jobs of this nature, both big and small.
For smaller jobs, we can handle them efficiently with a smaller crew, using equipment
from our renovation business to handle anything from cleanouts to demolition of sheds,
interior spaces such as kitchens and bathrooms, and flooring removal.
When larger jobs come in, we have access to dump trailers, trucks, and extra
manpower to assist when required. If additional support is needed from tradespeople or
contractors, we can reach out to our network to bring in additional assistance or
recommend a trusted partner to our clients. These are professionals we have years of
history and experience working with.

So, we are not simply a company that can assist you with junk removal and cleanouts.
We hope to become your trusted partner for your property needs. Our goal is not just to
get your current job, but to build a long-term relationship with our customers and
become someone they can recommend to friends, family, and colleagues.
Word of mouth is huge in allowing us to grow and scale our company.

Now, Back to the Shed With a Deadline

Once the customer reached out to us with the initial scope and deadline for the project,
the next step was to further define the requirements so we could price the job
accordingly and plan out the work.

The first point of discussion was access to the shed and ensuring that our removal
process would be acceptable to the customer. We wanted to make sure we had a clear
path to remove the materials for safety reasons and also ensure we weren’t driving on
or disturbing the property in a manner that could impact their ability to close.

After that was resolved, we discussed any utilities or other supporting infrastructure
associated with the job to ensure we had clear guidance on what the homeowner was
responsible for versus what we would handle.
In this case, there was no power or other utilities connected to the shed or in the path of
removal, so we could move on to the next point of discussion: the shed’s contents.

What Stays and What Goes?

During this part of the discussion, it was critical for us to know which items the
homeowner was planning to keep versus what we would be removing.
In this case, there were hurricane panels, some tile, and paint in the shed that belonged
with the house. If we hadn’t had that discussion, these items could have been
discarded, which would have created a bad situation and potentially derailed the
closing.

Once we determined where to move and store these items, we were able to continue.
Another important point during the discussion of a removal, teardown, or cleanout is
identifying any hazardous waste, chemicals, or other materials that may be in the area.
Green Tiger does not handle these types of materials, so we leave it to the homeowner
to arrange their removal and proper disposal.

Once these items were addressed, we were able to provide the customer with a
finalized quote and timeline for the shed removal.

Shed Demolition and Disposal

This shed was a wooden structure, so we were able to use our saws and other tools to
cut the shed into manageable-sized panels that could easily be transported in our dump
trailer to the appropriate landfill.

Due to some of the pressure-treated materials involved, we made sure to transport the
debris to the appropriate disposal facility.

Demolition Day: Three Hours From Start to Finish

On demolition day, we arrived at the property at 9 AM to begin the cleanout and
teardown.

By noon, we had separated the items the owner requested to keep, removed the
remaining contents of the shed, demolished the structure, and cleaned up the area
down to the concrete slab.

The client was thrilled with our turnaround time and performance and was able to
successfully close on the property.

We look forward to their call for any future cleanout or junk removal needs they may
have.
